FINDING THE CREATOR WITHIN: Playing with colour, pencils & feathers:

Based on Louise Lalandes’ artistry and experience, this series of workshops has been developed to assist you in finding your innate wisdom. In order to optimize your results the workshop format includes activities that stimulate both sides of the brain: Playful activities that engage the right side of the brain, and thinking, organizing queries to engage the left side of the brain.

COLLAGE: PATCHWORK OF WISHES
Enliven your imagination with magazine cut out words and images that will inspire you and invite desired qualities in your life. You will be guided through the process step by step to make a meaningful patchwork to inspire you initiate your dreams.

DANCING WITH WORDS
Recognize and use your creative instincts by working on a life size tracing of your body. Fill it with colour, textures, words and phrases describing dreams, and wishes, (if I had all the time in the world I would… or, if I had more money I would… when I retire/loose weight/get a new job I will… This workshop will expand your ability to choose from your heart rather than from a place of habit.

MANDALA COLOURING
Mandalas have been created for centuries to hold intentions. Their magic is subtle yet powerful. These childlike colouring-book drawing exercises are a light-hearted yet a profound experience that helps to connect us with our subconscious and non-tangible authentic self. Once recognized this part of ourselves can be cared for.

DRAWING FROM THE HEART
What if ideas had colours and emotions had textures? Learn to let your feelings reveal themselves through guided visualizations and simple drawings. Decode your dreams and find joy and peace by freeing the images from within.

PAINTING: SIMPLE & EVOCATIVE
Be inspired by the simplicity that can be found in the wondrous work of children and artist such as Matisse and Klee. Discover easy and playful ways to release thoughts, ideas, concepts and feelings through playful finger painting.

RUSSIAN DOLLS: THE POWER WITHIN
Like peeling back an artichoke, Russian dolls can represent the layers of time, of generations past, or layers of our self. Through journaling and collage you will create a set of three dolls that representation the power you hold within. Concepts of creating and allowing within a structure that holds flexibility will be practiced in this workshop. Wood dolls will be provided.

MASK MAKING: REVELATION QUEST
By applying colour and ‘found objects’ on a supplied plain face-mask you will create an object of character that holds power for you. This undertaking will create a space to deepen self-understanding, to be in the present time, and engage your curiosity to cultivate a connection with your passion.

DOLL MAKING: INVITING QUALITIES
Discover how an object made with intent can invite and bring about manifestation of ideas. Learn how to assemble and adorn an uncomplicated fabric doll. This small cartoon-like character will help you discover stumbling blocks and limiting beliefs, while revealing your optimism. This activity will demonstrate how we can work within the realm of perfect and imperfect.

All of us can become more creative than we already are and this can make us happier, healthier, more productive, and more authentic in everything we do.

Louise Lalande is the only accredited facilitator for the Artist’s Way in Canada.

Every year Louise facilitates a complete 12 week Artist’s Way program. Other formats for this course are available as one and five day workshops or retreats.
